Nike (Swoosh or Little Wing) inspired by the Greek goddess of victory, a simple checkmark is a symbol of global leadership in sports products. The founders were Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight under the name Blue Ribbon Sports (BRS) in 1962. The name Nike and the swoosh sign we know for the first time came together in June 1971. The foundation of this company started with Jeff Johnson's strategy to connect with athletes by developing relationships, creating environments and full engagement. Nike is, and has always been, a story about potential realization. It's a story about athletes and innovations and the relationship between the two. Simply put, Nike serves athletes.
